Julie Wohlberg
Julie leads brand strategy, positioning, messaging, PR, business development, partnerships, and high-touch growth strategy.
Julie Wohlberg is a growth strategist, communications executive, and business development leader with more than 25 years of experience helping organizations build influential brands, develop strategic partnerships, and accelerate growth. Her career spans global technology companies, venture-backed startups, agencies, nonprofit organizations, hospitality brands, and consumer products, giving her an uncommon ability to connect communications, business development, and operational strategy across industries.
Julie began her career as a news and features reporter with Tribune Media, covering defining national stories including the Columbine High School massacre, the September 11 terrorist attacks, and the Elian Gonzalez custody case. While reporting on Columbine in 1999, she became the first known journalist to use AOL online communities to identify and interview eyewitnesses for a breaking national news story - years before social media sourcing became a recognized journalistic practice. That newsroom foundation continues to shape her work today, combining investigative discipline, strategic storytelling, and an instinct for emerging technologies that has remained a constant throughout her career.
Over the past two decades, Julie has consistently found herself at the leading edge of major shifts in communications - from online communities and blogging to influencer marketing, digital publishing, social media, creator partnerships, and AI-assisted marketing. Long before influencer marketing became mainstream, she founded BlogWire and later built SheBlogs and HealthyBlogging, among the web's earliest professional communities connecting digital creators with brands. She went on to create SheCon, named one of the Top 50 Conferences for Young Entrepreneurs by Under30CEO, bringing together brands, entrepreneurs, content creators, and industry leaders to explore the future of digital publishing and online influence.
Julie has held senior leadership roles in communications, marketing, and business development throughout her career, including serving as Global Head of Communications and Business Development for Fotolia, where she led global communications initiatives and strategic partnerships during the company's rapid international expansion leading up to its acquisition by Adobe. She later served as Director of Communications for Multiply, helping lead a comprehensive rebrand and communications strategy during one of the platform's fastest periods of global growth, when it emerged as one of the world's fastest-growing social networks.
Beyond technology, Julie has built a reputation for opening doors, forging partnerships, and creating opportunities where others see obstacles. She has negotiated national sponsorships, secured strategic partnerships, developed business development programs, directed large-scale experiential events, managed executive communications, and led media relations for organizations ranging from emerging technology companies to nonprofit foundations and premium lifestyle brands.
Her nonprofit work includes communications, sponsorship procurement, media relations, and event strategy for organizations including the Serena Williams Fund, IDDeal Foundation, DayGLOW Music Foundation, and Coastal Conservation Association Florida. Notable projects include producing the Serena Williams Live Ultimate Run, supporting the Night of Dreams Gala, and leading media relations surrounding the deployment of the Voici Bernadette, one of Florida's most recognized artificial reef projects.
Julie's work and thought leadership have been featured by Forbes, PRWeek, Bulldog Reporter, ReadWriteWeb, SEO Watch, and numerous publications covering communications, entrepreneurship, and digital marketing.
Known for seeing opportunities others overlook, Julie combines executive-level communications expertise with an uncommon ability to build the relationships that turn ideas into measurable business growth. Whether launching a startup, repositioning an established organization, opening new markets, or creating strategic partnerships, she is trusted by founders and executive teams to align brand, communications, and business strategy around a shared vision for growth.
At Inflection Point, Julie serves as Founder and Principal, leading growth strategy, market positioning, communications, public relations, partnerships, and business development. She works directly with founders, executives, and leadership teams to build the brands, relationships, and systems that create sustainable momentum. Her philosophy is simple: exceptional marketing begins with a clear story, meaningful relationships, and the operational discipline to deliver on both.
